But the new Jaguar C-X75 (‘C’ for concept, ‘X’ for experimental, ’75’ to mark the brand’s 75th anniversary) is also a technological statement. Jag has spotted the kudos granted to Porsche for stealing the Geneva 2010 show with the 918 Spyder – and realises that its graceful, paceful cars require a green balance. The C-X75 is

News: Lotus Esprit (all-new Lotus supercar only a few years away)

bad credit loans

News homepage

What is it?

A revived supercar that’s set to take on the big performance car players as part of a huge new model onslaught by Lotus. It’s been six years since we last saw a Lotus Esprit and rumours have been rife about its resurfacing ever since, but it won’t actually go on sale until 2013.

Why’s it here?

Lotus has had an estimated 770 million pumped into it by its parent company, Proton, so it’s unveiled a mammoth six new models at the Paris Motor Show, which is an awful lot by any standards, let alone those of a low volume sports car manufacturer. The pricing and performance suggest that the Esprit is likely to take on the Porsche 911 Turbo and the Aston Martin V8

News: MINI Countryman WRC (new rally car based on Countryman crossover)

bad credit loans

News homepage

What is it?

It’s been a while coming, but MINI has finally confirmed its intention to compete in the 2011 World Rally championship by unveiling the Countryman-based MINI WRC. We’re just hoping the spoiler goes on the options list for the road version.

Why’s it here?

We’ve just answered that above, so let’s talk about the car here. It’s been developed with Prodrive and has a 1.6-litre four-pot turbo engine of unspecified output. Work started in 2009 and it’ll compete in six of 2011’s 13 scheduled races, before competing in the full WRC contest in 2012. MINI will build around 100 for use by private teams, too.

Show stopper or floor filler?

It’s looking good, that’s for sure, and if MINI

News: Bentley Continental GT (significant model update debuts in Paris)

bad credit loans

News homepage

What is it?

A mid-life refresh of Bentley’s hugely successful Continental GT coup. Unsurprisingly, the changes are relatively subtle, with revised front and rear lights, a more chiselled look to its lines and an all-new interior. Technical changes include a more powerful, more economical W12 engine with power increased by 20- to 567bhp. That allows the Continental GT to reach 62mph in 4.6 seconds and onto a 198mph top speed.

Why’s it here?

To introduce a range of changes that will filter down the entire Continental range in time. The new 2011 model will come with a new look, a more efficient W12 engine and improvements like a wider track front and rear to enhance the driving experience. The big news will be the availability of
